A global mental health organization dedicated to increasing services for the Latinx population across borders.

Who we are…

PASEO Mental Health is a global mental health organization focused on increasing access to mental health services for the Latinx population in the U.S. as well as in low-resource communities in Latin America. The heart of the program is an immersion-based language training program for students and professionals who provide clinical services in Spanish in the United States.

In addition, we also provide mental health capacity building and applied research assistance for organizations seeking to close gaps to mental health care in Latin America. Our current target communities include Trujillo in Northern Peru and San Juan la Laguna in Guatemala.

Spanish for Mental Health Courses

Are you a mental health student or clinician looking to advanced your Spanish vocabulary specific to clinical practice? Our specialized courses cover key topics and skill sets that will help you feel more confident in providing mental health services in Spanish, and improve the quality of services received by the Non-English Language Preference (NELP) Latinx community.

Spanish Clinical Proficiency Evaluation

The PASEO Assessment of Spanish Proficiency- Mental Health (PASP-MH) is a validated measure of oral Spanish abilities specific to clinical practice. This can be used to determine competency to provide services in Spanish, and to assess areas of strength and areas for development
